CONFERENCE: AN OUTLOOK ON TURKISH-ARMENIAN RELATIONS, R. AMBASSADOR KADRİ ECVET TEZCAN

On May 3, 2016, the Center for Eurasian Studies (AVİM) held a conference titled “An Outlook On Turkish-Armenian Relations” with R. Ambassador Kadri Ecvet Tezcan as the keynote speaker who served as the Turkish Ambassador to Baku, Azerbaijan in the years 1998-2001 and as Deputy Undersecretary of the Department for Multilateral Political Affairs in the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2008 to 2009.

REPORT ON HUMAN RIGHTS IN ARMENIA PUBLISHED BY HUMAN RIGHTS WITHOUT FRONTIERS INT'L, BRUSSELS

A report titled "Human Rights in Armenia, a member state of the Eurasian Economic Union: State of Play in 2015 and Perspectives" and prepared by Willy Fautre has been published by Human Rights Without Frontiers Int'l, Brussels.

On 19 April, 2016, the Center for Eurasian Studies (AVİM) held a meeting titled The Relations between Mormon Missionaries and Armenians in the Ottoman Empire with Prof. Dr. Seçil Karal Akgün as the keynote speaker.  

AVİM ORGANIZED A CONFERENCE ON CRIMEA AND CRIMEAN TATARS

On 15 April, 2016, on the occasion of the release of the special issue of International Crimes and History dedicated to Crimean Tatars under Tsarist Russia and Soviet Union, the Center for Eurasian Studies (AVİM) held a conference on the subject of Crimea and the Crimean Tatars.

TURKISH-ARMENIAN RELATIONS EXHIBITION: “WITH THE INTENTION OF THE POMEGRANATE”

On 6 April 2016 in the Tophane-i Amire Culture and Arts Center of Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey held the inauguration of a postcard exhibition illustrating the 800 years of Turkish-Armenian relations.

AVİM's new website has been launched on 15.03.2016. We hope you will like it. We kindly ask for your understanding for the possible inconveniences due to technical adjustment problems. 

AVİM offers traineeship opportunities all year round. Unfortunately AVİM is not able to provide any financial support to its trainees. Also trainees are supposed to take care of the health insurance, visa application process, accommodation costs and arrangements, local and international transportation.

On Wednesday, 17 February, during the rush-hour traffic, a terrorist attack was carried out in Ankara’s Merasim Street against service vehicles carrying civilian and military personal. 28 citizens lost their lives, while 61 were injured during the attack. This deplorable news has brought great sorrow to AVİM.
