On 4 December 2018, the conference titled “The Holodomor: The Man-Made Famine in Ukraine (1932-1933)” was jointly organized by the Embassy of Ukraine in Turkey and Center for Eurasian Studies (AVİM) at the National Library of Turkey, Ankara.

THE HOLODOMOR: THE MAN-MADE FAMINE IN UKRAINE

At the panel titled “The Holodomor: The Man-Made Famine in Ukraine (1932-1933)”, which is jointly organized by the Embassy of Ukraine in Turkey and Center for Eurasian Studies (AVİM) at the National Library of Turkey on 4 December 2018 between 14:00-17:00, Turkish and Ukrainian panelists will address the historical, sociological, political and legal aspects of the Holodomor.

The international conference titled “The Centennial of the Independence of the Three South Caucasus States: Historical Background, Contemporary Developments and Prospects of Peace and Prosperity” jointly organized by AVİM and the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan with the support of SOCAR was held on 9 November 2018 in Ankara.

THE THIRD ISSUE OF EURASIAN WORLD JOURNAL HAS BEEN PUBLISHED

“Eurasian World” is entering its second publication year with the present issue. This issue includes ten studies. 

ROUND TABLE MEETING ON THE BLACK SEA SECURITY AT AVİM

On 16 October 2018, a round table meeting was held at AVİM, at which former Commander of the NATO Allied Land Command in İzmir and former Commander of the United States Army Europe Lieutenant General (Retired) Ben Hodges, who recently holds the Pershing Chair in Strategic Studies at Washington, DC based Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA) along with an US delegation, AVİM analysts and a number of academics from the universities in Ankara focusing on the Black Sea region and security studies participated.

THE CONFERENCE BOOK TITLED “SECURITY, STABILITY AND COOPERATION IN THE WIDER BLACK SEA REGION” HAS BEEN PUBLISHED

The conference book based on the proceedings of the international conference titled “Security, Stability and Cooperation in the Wider Black Sea Region” that was jointly organized by Center for Eurasian Studies (AVİM) and Konrad Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) on 4 December 2017 has been published by AVİM.

2018 SPECA ECONOMIC FORUM WAS HELD IN ALMATY BETWEEN 20-21 SEPTEMBER

2018 Economic Forum of the Special Programme for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA) and the Thirteenth Session of the SPECA Governing Council were held on 20-21 September 2018 in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Center for Eurasian Studies (AVİM) is represented in the 2018 SPECA Economic Forum held in collaboration with the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe by Ambassador (R) Çınar Aldemir.

Prof. Sergii Glebov (Odessa Mechnikov National University Faculty of International Relations), and Fethi Kurtiy Şahin (Research Assistant at METU Graduate School of Social Science; PhD candidate at METU Area Studies PhD Program) at this panel.

AVIM PUBLISHED THE BOOK ENTITLED BRITISH DOCUMENTS ON ARMENIAN QUESTION (1912-1923) BY ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR TOLGA BAŞAK

AVİM senior analyst Aslan Yavuz Şir delivered a speech at the “Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey: Global And Regional Determinants Of Trilateral Cooperation” meeting jointly organized in Tbilisi by the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SAM), Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies (Rondeli Foundation) and the Center for Strategic Research of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey.
