TASC: REMEMBERING THE 76TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE EXILE OF CRIMEAN TATARS On May 18, 1944, the Stalin regime carried out a mass deportation of Crimean Tatar Turks from their homelands which were occupied by the Soviet Union. Within months, 230,000 Crimean Tatars were deported, mostly to Uzbekistan. Many trekked to Japan from where they immigrated to the United States. Many sought refuge in Turkey where they flourished in freedom, equality, and safety.

18 MARCH ÇANAKKALE VICTORY AND COMMEMORATION OF MARTYRS DAY On the occasion of 18 March Çanakkale Victory and Commemoration of Martyrs Day, as the staff of the Center for Eurasian Studies (AVİM), we commemorate with respect and gratitude the great leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, his brothers in arms, our glorious martyrs who lost their lives at Çanakkale, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs personnel, all public employees, and their family members who lost their lives during their assignments abroad as a result of the terror attacks perpetrated by ultranationalistic Armenian groups.
