His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians briefed Pope Leo XIV on the plight of [Karabakh] Armenians and their right to return to their ancestral homeland, as well as the imperative to release Armenians currently being held captive in Baku.
Karekin II on Tuesday met the Pope in the Vatican, where he personally congratulated his election as the leader of the Catholic Church and discussed relations with Armenia and the Armenian church, as well as the current international and regional realities.
