Foreign Minister Glauk Konjufca has stated that Kosovo seeks equal and fair treatment from the European Union, emphasizing that the country is ready to move forward within a meritocratic process.

According to him, this process means that Kosovo will receive candidate country status and begin negotiations for EU membership.

"Also, we want to have equal and fair treatment from the EU, we as Kosovo are ready to move and advance within this framework of the merit-based process. At the same time, what we think is what this merit-based process really means is for Kosovo to have the status of a candidate country and to start negotiations for EU membership," Konjufca said before the start of the meeting of foreign ministers of EU member states with their counterparts from the Western Balkans(*) on Monday in Brussels.
