Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin held a meeting in Moscow on 8 May. The talks took place within the framework of events marking the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Second World War.

At the beginning of the meeting, the two leaders exchanged congratulations on the commemorative date. The sides discussed the development of Uzbekistan-Russia relations in the format of a comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance.

Special attention was given to economic cooperation. The leaders noted steady growth in bilateral trade and the implementation of joint projects in industry, energy, and metallurgy. They also discussed expanding cooperation and maintaining business ties between the regions of the two countries.
