Between 13 October-14 November 2021 at Ankara CerModern Arts Center, 48 photographs taken by the Finnish military leader and statesman, Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim (1867~1951) during his mission on horseback along the Silk Road from Central Asia through China in 1906-1908 will be exhibited.

In the webinar Professor Erickson will discuss his book, which fills a significant gap in our understanding of a major episode in Turkish history by conceptualizing the Turkish War of Independence as an early example of modern ‘hybrid­war’ as a combination of differing types of wars - conventional, unconventional, counterinsurgency, and political­economic-information warfare.

As the staff of the Center for Eurasian Studies (AVİM), we celebrate our 19 May  Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day which symbolizes the resolve of the Turkish Nation to protect its future and the beginning of our War of Liberation under the leadership of Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

GRAND NATIONAL ASSEMBLY OF TURKEY: RESOLUTION ON THE CONDEMNATION, REJECTION, AND DECLARATION OF THE NULL AND VOID NATURE OF THE USA PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN’S STATEMENT OF 24 APRIL 2021

As the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, we strongly and regretfully condemn the USA President Joe Biden embracing theses containing the claims of Armenian lobby groups regarding the 1915 Events with his 24 April 2021 dated statement, and reject in the strongest terms this baseless slander which holds no other meaning than the distortion of history for political motives. We consider this statement made by the USA President, who does not possess the legal and ethical authority to pass judgement on historical subjects, to be null and void.

On 28 April 2021, AVİM organized a webinar (via the Zoom platform) titled “Turkish-Armenian Relations In The American Legal And Political Arenas - Part II” at the which the speakers were Ergün Kırlıkovalı and Günay Evinch (Övünç). The webinar was dedicated to the discussion of the present-day reflections of the issues in Turkish-Armenian relations onto the legal and political system of the United States. This webinar constitutes the second part in a series of webinars to be organized in this context.
