Work to extend the service life of the second power unit of the Armenian NPP is ongoing. This is stated in a report on the progress of implementing measures to extend the service life of the said facility, submitted to the Government of Armenia.

As part of the inspection, additional measures aimed at improving the safety of the power unit were developed. The deadline for completing these measures is set for October 5, 2026.

In addition, based on the results of the analysis of the impact of fires on the safe shutdown and cooling of the reactor unit, as well as on the control and containment of radioactive releases into the environment, measures were developed to improve the fire safety of the NPP. The deadline for completing these measures is set for July 1, 2026.
