Georgia has completed the repayment of its so-called "historic debt" to seven countries, including Azerbaijan.

According to Report, citing the Georgian Ministry of Finance, in September 2025 Georgia fully settled the remaining external debt restructured in July 2004 under an agreement with Paris Club creditors.

In addition to Azerbaijan, the debts were paid off to Russia, Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Iran, and the Netherlands.
