Albanian government has launched an Economic Reform Program (ERP) 2018-2020 which it says will carry Albania forward in the process of the European Union integration.

"The Economic Reform Program consists of two main pillars. The first pillar is macroeconomic and fiscal framework, while the second contains structural reforms," Milva Ekonomi, Albanian Minister of Economic Development, Tourism, Trade and Entrepreneurship told reporters Sunday.

Ekonomi added that the drafting of economic reforms program was very important for the authorities here as it will serve as a platform to advance the country's EU integration agenda.

Meanwhile, according to an Albanian government press statement, the economic reform program is a consolidated document crafted by an inter-ministerial group, coordinated by the Ministry of Economy.

"It is the basic document on the basis of which Albania is monitored by the European Commission in the context of economic reforms that have an impact on economic growth and competitiveness," the press statement confirmed.
