The Foreign Ministries of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan held the virtual political consultations on September 21.

The delegation of Uzbekistan was held by Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov. The delegation of Turkmenistan was led by Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan, Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov, the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan reported.

The consultations addressed the current bilateral cooperation and its prospects in political, economic, scientific, technical, transport, cultural, humintarian spheres and water resources.

The sides considered the timing of the next round of talks of the intergovernmental commission for commercial, economic, scientific, technical, and cultural cooperation, first meeting of the Uzbek-Turkmen Business Council.

The Foreign Ministers voiced support to the soonest implementation of the Ashgabat agreement on Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Oman international transport corridor.

The views were also exchanged on joint efforts in COVID-19 response and mitigation of pandemic effects on bilateral cooperation.
