United States Ambassador to Armenia Kristina Kvien on Thursday joined the European Union monitoring mission and observed the situation along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border. She also met with Armenia’s Interior Minister Vahe Ghazaryan in the Syunik Province.

“Ambassador Kvien joined the European Mission in Armenia (EUMA) monitoring mission to observe the situation on the border. The United States welcomes the progress by Armenia and Azerbaijan toward a dignified and durable peace,” a statement by the U.S. Embassy said on Thursday.
