Turkmenistan is planning to increase natural gas supplies to Iran to 40 billion cubic meters per year, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Chairman of the Turkmenistan People's Council, announced, Trend reports.

According to official sources, he made this statement during talks with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian during his working visit to Iran.

To achieve this goal, upgrades to the gas pipeline infrastructure are required, including the construction of new facilities and attracting investment, according to the chairman.
