Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) President Tufan Erhürman reacted to remarks made by Greek Cypriot Leader Nikos Hristodulidis on social media, stating, “We hear our own words. I hope you do too!”

Erhürman’s full statement read: “Mr. Hristodulidis has moved from ‘Let’s continue where we left off in Crans-Montana’ to the ‘five-point roadmap,’ and from there to calling on Turkish Cypriots to ‘return to the Republic of Cyprus.’

‘Fantastic ideas’ seem to be flying around, well beyond the limits of reason and practicality—from NATO membership to the British bases, and even to Turkey’s recognition.
