Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa has admitted that the current governing coalition doesn’t have the necessary votes to ratify the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro.
“I have not given up. I am making efforts and would like for all of us to sit down and find a solution on the Demarcation, because it is a great loss for Kosovo”, he said.
“I would ask the opposition and MPs who have criticized the agreement to find the necessary arguments on the issue of Demarcation, because the interests of Kosovo are at stake here”.
Meanwhile, Mustafa has admitted that the coalition doesn’t have the necessary votes for the voting of the agreement with Montenegro.
“I don’t see any reason to proceed with the voting of the law in parliament without securing the necessary votes. We must make maximum efforts to secure the necessary votes”, Mustafa said.
The governing coalition is currently being boycotted by the Serb List and this has made decision making very difficult in parliament.
The Demarcation agreement is being contested by the opposition and a group of majority MPs. Meanwhile, the ratification of this agreement remains the main condition that the European Union has imposed on Kosovo for the liberalization of visas.
