Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said this on October 24 during a press statement following a meeting with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, Report informs.

“I informed the prime minister about the situation after the second Karabakh war, about the progress of the peace talks between Armenia and Azerbaijan. We believe that after the end of the Karabakh conflict, the time has come for the signing of a peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia. In any case, this is our intention. We presented our proposals consisting of the five main principles to the Armenian side. I hope that the Armenian side will also show political will and sign a peace treaty with Azerbaijan.

If this happens, peace will come to the South Caucasus, opportunities for cooperation will appear,” President Aliyev said.

Ilham Aliyev also said that during today’s meeting in Georgia, the parties exchanged views on the start of Georgian-Azerbaijani-Armenian consultations.

“Today, during the conversation, we exchanged views on the start of the Georgian-Azerbaijani-Armenian consultations. If the Armenian side is ready for this, then we are ready too,” the president noted.
