Burgas. “We want the Black Sea to be a zone of transport corridors, oil and gas extraction, and tourism.”
This is what Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov said speaking with journalists in the coastal city of Burgas, Radio FOCUS reported.
The Bulgarian Prime Minister remarked that the country would make huge efforts to exclude the Black Sea from the list of conflict areas.
“When speaking of demilitarisation, we realise that this is a hard process, a slow and very difficult process.
Last night I have a long conversation with the minister of defence and the generals that we want the Black Sea to be a zone of transport corridors, oil and gas extraction, and tourism.
The operators already report 50% growth in the number of tourists this season. We want to generate finances that will guarantee the wellbeing of the Bulgarian citizens because they are the poorest in Europe and this is the way to make money for the state budget,” Mr Borisov said.
“We will take active part in this process and I hope that our voice will be heard,” the Prime Minister pointed out.
