The President of the Supreme Judicial Council(SJC), Judge Faiq Zidan, confirmed on Tuesday, the continuation of efforts to develop the judicial system in Iraq.

“The independence of the judiciary began after 2003 and was completed on the twenty-third of January 2017 after the issuance of SJC Law No. 45,” Judge Zidan said, in his speech on Iraqi Judiciary Day, followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

"The independence of the judiciary is the most important achievement because judges implement the law without any influence,” he added.
