Russia has broken its silence on the investigation into the data from the Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) aircraft's black box after the flight crashed on December 25 on its way to Grozny.

During a press conference on January 14, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that decoding the black boxes does not confirm "some preliminary conclusions stated in the media" but did not specify which conclusions, according to the Russian state media outlet Tass.
