KYRGYZSTAN'S GDP GROWS 7.8% IN Q1

 Kyrgyzstan's economy grew 7.8% in the first three months of 2017, whereas growth in the same period of 2016 was 6.4%, Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov said, Tazabek reported.

Growth in Kyrgyzstan over 2017 is projected at 3.5%, PM said. "According to the Eurasian Economic Commission, this is the highest figure among the Eurasian Economic Union member states," Jeenbekov told the Parliament members during the session on Thursday.

"Government managed to stabilize the economic situation in the country and offset the state budget," he added.

In monetary terms, the country's GDP totaled 458 billion som with the real growth of 103.8% at the forecast of 2.7%, he said.

"The GDP deflator was 102.5%. The growth was achieved by the sectors of domestic economy. Average year-on-year inflation in 2016 was 100.4%,  the lowest rate among the Eurasian Economic Union member states," Jeenbekov added.
