President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci has officially withdrawn his legal incentive for the transformation of Kosovo Security Force into a new military mission.

Thaci has sent a letter to the speaker of Parliament, Kadri Veseli to ask him not to put the bill for voting.

According to Thaci, this is done in order to offer a last chance to the transformation of FSK through constitutional amendments, which includes in the talks the international community and Serb community.

“I believe that our institutions still have enough time to make a last effort in order to secure the support of all communities for the establishment of Kosovo’s Armed Forces”, Thaci said.

Meanwhile, the US ambassador to Pristina, Greg Delawie said that the US government supports Kosovo and the Security Force, but according to him, the transformation of FSK into an army through a bill, like the president of Kosovo had pretended, was not the right thing to do. He said that the USA and the other allies are expecting the transformation of FSK to undergo a transparent process in compliance with the Constitution.
