Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani stressed on Monday the necessity of preventing the expansion the conflict and working to enhance security and stability in the region.

The Prime Minister's media office stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani received the French Ambassador to Iraq, Patrick Dorrel, where they discussed the overall bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to develop it, in addition to discussing the developments and events witnessed by the region."

"The meeting witnessed the Prime Minister renewing his appreciation for the position of French President Emmanuel Macron rejecting the supply of weapons to the Zionist entity, coinciding with the first anniversary of the outbreak of the events of October 7."
