Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani and Prime Minister-designate Ali Falih Kadhim al-Zaidi underscored on Tuesday the need to move forward with forming a government capable of confronting ongoing crises and challenges.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Media Office, cited by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), al-Sudani received al-Zaidi earlier in the day. The meeting reviewed the overall situation in Iraq and the broader region, with both sides emphasizing the importance of strengthening national unity among all political forces and working in a spirit of responsibility and partnership.

They stressed the necessity of forming a government that represents all Iraqis and is defined by competence and the ability to address pressing challenges.
