Iraq's President Nizar Amedi emphasized on Tuesday during his meeting with the Chargé d'Affaires of the United States Embassy in Iraq, Joshua Harris, the importance of de-escalation in the region and adopting dialogue as a fundamental approach to resolving crises.

A statement issued by the Media Office of the Presidency of the Republic, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "President Nizar Amedi received at Baghdad Palace the Chargé d'Affaires of the United States Embassy in Iraq, Joshua Harris, who conveyed his country's congratulations on his election as President of the Republic, wishing the President continued success in carrying out his national duties."
