Russia and Iraq are working on 25 agreements in various fields, some of which might be ready for signing at the eighth governmental committee meeting in Baghdad in March, Haidar Mansour Hadi, the ambassador of Iraq to Russia, told Sputnik on the sidelines of the RussianInvestment Forum on Thursday.

"We are hoping to sign a few agreements. Currently we are working on around 25 ... agreements and memorandums of understanding between Russia and Iraq. We are working on that. Some of them are at the final stage. So we are hoping that by the time we hold the committee in Baghdad, some of them will be ready so we can sign them," Hadi said.

Hadi revealed that Russia and Iraq are looking to sign an agreement on a visa waiver for businesses and diplomats.

"When we sign such important agreements ... they are all important, but I have an agreement in the cultural sphere that is very important. Also, we are working on signing an agreement, a visa waiver, for the diplomatic and service passports between Russia and Iraq. This is very important. We are working on this, now it is in the final stages," Hadi said.
