Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on Sunday sought a "greater" role for developing countries in shaping the global order, with BRICS serving as a platform to strengthen the voice of the Global South.

Prabowo made the remarks at the opening session of the BRICS Leaders' Summit in the Indian capital New Delhi, local English daily Tempo reported, citing the Presidential Secretariat's Media and Information Bureau.

Prabowo said that strengthening the voice of the Global South was important to give developing countries a greater role in determining the direction of global development.
