Some 29 Afghan nationals have been detained at the Bulgarian-Serbian border, the press office of the Bulgarian General Directorate of Border Police announced.
At 9:45 a.m. an empty freight train arrived at Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint. During an inspection the border police officers found four illegal migrants without ID documents in one of train’s cars.
Other 19 illegal migrants were found in two of the cars of an international freight train entering Bulgaria. The foreign nationals were taken to the border police unit in Svilengrad (Southern Bulgaria). Work on their identification continues.
29 foreign citizens, who claimed to be from Afghanistan, were detained yesterday by border police officers with the Bregovo unit (Northwestern Bulgaria) close to the Bulgarian-Serbian border, in the lands of the village of Tiyanovtsi. Some of them had documents issued by the State Agency for Refugees.
