Bosnian Serb officials attended a commemorative day honouring Russians who fought for the Bosnian Serb side in the 1992-95 war, even though the state prosecutor has opened an investigation into the event for possible incitement to religious hatred.

Ignoring criticism of the event, a Bosnian Serb minister attended a memorial service on Monday in Visegrad for Russian fighters in the 1992-95 Bosnian war, where flowers were laid at the Monument to the Fallen Russian Volunteers at the Megdan Military Cemetery.

Dusko Milunovic, the Republika Srpska’s Minister of Labour and Veterans, said the day would be celebrated every year whatever the opposition.
