An 80-strong majority is a problem most leaders would like to have. But with such a large electoral base, the U.K. Conservatives are finding it is hard to please all their supporters all of the time.

The first two years of Boris Johnson’s premiership were anything but normal. The early stages were taken up with a general election and then with getting Brexit done, swiftly followed by the descent into a public health catastrophe. 

Only now does Johnson have the breathing space to turn to some of the key promises of his 2019 manifesto. But despite the advantages of an overwhelming majority in parliament, implementing that program for government is proving harder than many anticipated.
