Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have discussed joint steps to increase the volume and speed of cargo transportation within CASCA + multimodal transport route created on the basis of the international multimodal route “Azerbaijan-Georgia-Kyrgyzstan-Turkmenistan-Turkiye-Uzbekistan), and the Trans-Caspian International Transport Corridor.

The discussion was held at the first meeting of the joint working group on transport and transit cargo between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, co-chaired by Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan Rahman Hummatov and Deputy Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan Abdusamat Muminov.

The strategic importance of Zangazur Corridor was highlighted at the meeting.
