Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan have discussed expanding transport and logistics cooperation, including increasing the transit of Kazakh energy resources through Azerbaijan.

The matter was discussed during a meeting between Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Samir Sharifov and Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Alim Bayel, The Caspian Post reports, citing the official website of the Kazakh government.

The meeting also addressed plans to establish a joint intermodal terminal at the Port of Alat, supply Azerbaijani operators with Kazakh locomotives and railcars, build vessels for Kazakhstan at the Baku Shipyard, and further develop the joint Baku Grain Terminal at the Port of Hovsan.
