Azerbaijan and China have discussed opportunities to expand cooperation in the energy sector, including potential oil and gas as well as renewable energy projects in the Caspian Sea.

The issue was discussed at a meeting between Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov and Zhang Chuanjiang, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC), The Caspian Post reports, citing the Energy Ministry.

The sides highlighted the continued development of the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and China, noting that expanding cooperation in various areas is creating new opportunities in the energy sector.
