Armenian Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is to fly to Astana tomorrow for a two-day working visit.

He will attend a session of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, the press office of the Armenian government reported on Wednesday.

The leaders of the CSTO member countries (Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tussia and Tajikistan) will gather in Kazakhstan for a session.

According to media reports, the key issue on the session’s agenda will be appointment of a new secretary general of the organization, since this position became vacant after Yuri Khachaturov, representing Armenia, was recalled recently.

The official Yerevan is convinced that Armenia should continue enjoying the chairmanship in the CSTO until the term of its chairmanship expires, while some media sources report that Belarus’ Stanislav Zas is being discussed in the organization as likely successor of Khachaturov.

Pashinyan is also set to meet representative so the Armenian community in Kazakhstan as part of his visit.
