The April war (2016) came to show that Armenia should first of all rely on itself and diversify its security system, Stepan Grigoryan, director of the Yerevan-based Analytical Centre on Globalization and Regional Cooperation, told a press conference on Wednesday.

The analyst believes that Armenia should not link its security with one country or organization. “It is necessary to work in multiple directions. It is evident that in addition to the CSTO and Russia, the county should also cooperate with NATO. Armenia-NATO programs are based on principle of complementarity. Let us consider the comminution sphere in the Army. No one assists us in this regard, except NATO,” Mr. Grigoryan added.

Stepan Grigoryan is convinced that Armenia’s cooperation with NATO should not be contrary to other factors and the country should establish a reliable security system.
