The First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, stressed the importance of forming a strong government that meets the aspirations of the people and strengthens Iraq's relations.

The media office of the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Al-Mandalawi discussed with the American ambassador in Baghdad, Alina Romanowski, the importance of the new government being strong and responsive to the aspirations of the Iraqi people, and seeking balanced relations at the regional and international levels, and supportive for stability of the country, and for the House of Representatives to exercise its legislative and oversight role in following up on the implementation of its duties within the government program.

During the reception, Al-Mandalawi indicated, according to the statement, "the parliament's keenness to strengthen relations with the United States of America in the economic, political and cultural fields."
