THE BOOK TITLED 'TÜRK-ERMENİ UYUŞMAZLIĞI ÜZERİNE ÖMER ENGİN LÜTEM KONFERANSLARI 2019” HAS BEEN PUBLISHED The book titled “Türk-Ermeni Uyuşmazlığı Üzerine Ömer Engin Lütem Konferansları 2019” ("Ömer Engin Lütem Lectures 2019 Concerning The Turkish-Armenian Controversy"), edited by the Director of the Center for Eurasian Studies (AVİM) Ambassador (R) Alev Kılıç and published by AVİM includes ten studies presented at the lectures held in 2019.

18 MARCH ÇANAKKALE VICTORY AND COMMEMORATION OF MARTYRS DAY On the occasion of 18 March Çanakkale Victory and Commemoration of Martyrs Day, as the staff of the Center for Eurasian Studies (AVİM), we commemorate with respect and gratitude the great leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, his brothers in arms, our glorious martyrs who lost their lives at Çanakkale, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs personnel, all public employees, and their family members who lost their lives during their assignments abroad as a result of the terror attacks perpetrated by ultranationalistic Armenian groups.

CONFERENCE: CURRENT REFUGEE MOVEMENTS IN ASIA AND THEIR REFLECTIONS ON TURKEY In his presentation, Metin Çorabatır, the President of the Research Centre on Asylum and Migration (IGAM) and the former Spokesperson and External Relations Officer of the UNHCR Office in Turkey, will discuss the current state of refugee protection in the Asia-Pacific region and the impact of the gaps in refugee protection policies on Turkey's asylum management.

TURKISH NATIONAL BOXER GARBİS ZAKARYAN HAS BEEN LAID TO REST Turkey’s first professional boxer Garbis “Iron Fist” Zakaryan, who had passed away on Sunday 26 January 2020, was laid to rest on Wednesday at the Şişli/İstanbul Armenian Cemetery after a funeral ceremony held at the Beyoğlu/İstanbul Üç Horan Armenian Church. Upon Zakaryan’s will, his coffin was wrapped with the Turkish flag. Alongside his family members and loved ones, Zakaryan’s funeral was attended by the Turkish Minister of Youth and Sports Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu, Governor of İstanbul Ali Yerlikaya, Armenian Patriarch of İstanbul Sahak II. Maşalyan, Mayor of Beyoğlu/İstanbul Haydar Ali Yıldız, Director General of Sports Affairs Mehmet Baykan, and the President of Turkish Boxing Federation Eyüp Gözgeç.
