Moldovan and Bosnian Foreign Affairs Minister Tudor Ulianovschi and Igor Crnadak signed a joint declaration on European integration and cooperation between the two countries on Tuesday in Chisinau.

The document says that Moldova and Bosnia and Herzegovina will support each other on their European path.

Ulianovschi explained that because European integration is a national priority of both Moldova and Bosnia and Herzegovina, it puts the two countries “in a favourable context for the development of mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation”.

Crnadak also said that Bosnia wants to deepen bilateral relations with Chisinau, although there are already 25 cooperation agreements between the two countries. He invited his counterpart to visit Sarajevo.

Moldova said it will support Bosnia and Herzegovina taking over the rotating presidency of the South East European Cooperation Process (SEECP), a cross-Balkans cooperation initiative, this summer. The SEECP’s goals include improving security and economic cooperation.

Moldova is also seeking new partnerships with other Western Balkans countries.

On January 30, Moldova and Croatia signed a new deal on the promotion and reciprocal protection of investments.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the volume of Moldovan-Croatian trade in January-November 2017 registered $2.7 million, up 37.8 per cent compared to the same period in 2016. In Moldova, there are 13 enterprises with Croatian capital worth about 700,000 euros.

Moldova also contributes soldiers to the NATO-led operation for peacekeeping in Kosovo.
