Celebrated as a day of diversity, dialogue and solidarity across many countries of Western, Central and Southern Asia, the Caucasus, the Balkans and other regions, Nowruz brings peoples of many different cultures, religions and languages together and joins families and communities.
Nowruz is a vivid demonstration of the creative diversity by giving rise to a rich horizon of customs, rituals and festivities Thus in 2009, Nowruz was inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, and in 10 May 2010 the United Nations General Assembly adopted the resolution recognizing 21 March as the International Day of Nowruz upon a joint proposition by a number of countries including Azerbaijan, Macedonia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkey and Turkmenistan.
AVİM celebrates 21 March International Nowruz Day with sincere wishes for peace, solidarity, conciliation, cooperation and dialogue.
