Azerbaijan is investing heavily in railway and highway infrastructure to open new transportation corridors and strengthen regional connectivity, President Ilham Aliyev said on June 1 at the opening ceremony of the 31st Baku Energy Forum.

According to the president, the development of strategic transport routes that enhance trade and economic cooperation across the wider region remains high on Baku’s strategic agenda.

President Aliyev noted that the East-West Corridor is already operating successfully and highlighted the future role of the Zangezur Corridor as an additional route linking regional markets.
