Karen Karapetyan, Armenian prime minister, met Friday with his Belarusian counterpart Andrey Kobyakov in Almaty, where the two counties premiers came to attend the Eurasian Economic Union’s prime-ministerial meeting.

Karapetyan and Kobyakov discussed the agenda of Armenia-Belarus economic relations and outlined cooperation development prospects.

Karapetyan said that trade turnover between the two countries grew 20% over 11 months of 2017, compared with the same period a year before.

He told Kobyakov about the free economic zone opened in November on the Armenia-Iran border in the hope that this information will attract interest of Belarusian businessmen.

The two prime ministers also spoke about cooperation inside the Eurasian Economic Union.
