US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Monday that Washington is "very close" to finalizing a trade deal with India.

“We're trying to finalize a trade deal with India right now. We're very close to doing that," Rubio said in the Uzbek city of Samarkand, where he will be meeting with his Central Asian counterparts before embarking on a three-day visit to India on Tuesday.

He is expected to arrive in India's financial hub Mumbai and later visit the world’s largest single-site oil refinery in Jamnagar, a city in western state of Gujarat state.
