The US Biden administration supports a project to strengthen security of the border between Tajikistan and Afghanistan, according to a Reuters report, as the humanitarian crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border continues.

The U.S. Embassy in Tajikistan will fund the construction of a new facility along the Tajik-Afghan border beginning in 2022. Over the past two decades, the U.S. government has given Tajikistan over $300 million worth of security assistance, according to an embassy press release.

Meanwhile, the U.S. is facing a dire border crisis stateside, where nearly 14,000 migrants remain camped under the Del Rio International Bridge along the U.S.-Mexico border, according to Del Rio Mayor Bruno Lozano.
