Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu Sunday congratulated his French counterpart Catherine Colonna on her newly assumed office.

According to a statement by the Turkish Foreign Ministry, Cavusoglu held a phone call with Colonna to congratulate his counterpart on her appointment as France's new foreign minister.

The duo also addressed the bilateral relations during the phone call.

Unveiling his new government past week, French President Emmanuel Macron appointed Colonna as his new foreign affairs and Europe minister.
