President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Joomart Tokayev received Chinese Ambassador Zhang Xiao on March 14, according to the Akorda website.

"During the meeting with Ambassador of China to Kazakhstan Zhang Xiao, the relevance of holding the Central Asia + China summit, which will be held in Xi’an in May 2023, as well as the planned state visit of President Kassym-Jpomart Tokayev to the PRC, was noted," the statement said.

The importance of further strengthening bilateral relations, expanding economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian ties was emphasized.
