As the Center for Eurasian Studies (AVİM), we strongly condemn the brutal attack perpetrated by armed nationalist Armenian forces against the civilian population of the city of Khojaly in the Nagorno Karabakh region of Azerbaijan on 26 February 1992. In this massacre, hundreds of people were killed, hundreds were wounded and countless people were forced to leave their homes. Twenty percent of Azerbaijan’s territories are currently under the occupation of the armed forces of Armenia.

On the occasion of the anniversary of this massacre, we would like express our condolences to the families of those Azerbaijanis who were killed in this deplorable event. May those who lost their lives rest in peace.
