The Swedish Ambassador, Jessica Svardstrom, confirmed today, Sunday, that the most important international development strategy is to create appropriate conditions to prevent violence against women, while pointing to her country's support for Iraqi women's rights organizations.

"We thank the Iraqi government and our partners in international organizations for organizing this event (the 16-day campaign to combat violence against women) and highlighting the importance of the law to combat violence against women," said Svardstrom at the conference on combating violence against women.

She pointed out that "one of the most important international development strategies is to create appropriate conditions to prevent violence against women," pointing out that "the State of Sweden supports Iraqi women's rights organizations and supports this important work carried out by international and international organizations."
