CIS observation mission in the upcoming presidential election in Azerbaijan will be led by the chairman of the CIS Executive Committee Sergey Lebedev, according to the statement published at the organisation's website.

The decision was agreed at the meeting of the CIS Permanent Representatives’ Council in Minsk.

Long-term CIS observers to presidential election are expected to arrive on March 20, 2018. Short-term observation mission is to arrive to Azerbaijan as usual 3-5 days before the voting.

The presidential election in Azerbaijan will be held on April 11, 2018.
