Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi received an invitation to visit the Bulgarian capital, Sofia.

A statement by his media office, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi received today, Tuesday, a phone call from Bulgarian Prime Minister Kiril Petkov, and during the call, they discussed bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and means to consolidate it, in various fields."

The statement added, "During the call, they discussed bilateral cooperation between Baghdad and Sofia in the fields of security and defense, and ways to transfer Bulgarian expertise in the field of military manufacturing technology to Iraq."
