Aysor (25 February 2019)

The Bright Armenia faction has not conducted a session to discuss whether it will join the March 1 rally initiated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan or not, faction head Edmon MArukyan said, speaking to Aysor.am.

He also reminded that every year member of the Bright Armenia party put flowers at Alexander Myasnikyan monument in the memory of the March 1, 2008 victims.

“I think we will do the same this year too. We had once held march with the Yelk faction,” he said, adding that they will discuss the issue.

Member of the Prosperous Armenia faction Michael Melkumyan told Aysor.am that they have not discussed the issue of participation or not participation in the March 1 march yet.

“We pay tribute to the victims every years, we will do that this year too, but the issue about march has not been discussed yet,” Melkumyan stressed.

This year marks the 11th anniversary of March 1 developments. Few days ago Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated in live video on Facebook that they want to conduct a huge civilian march on that day from Freedom Square to Myasnikyan monument.

Nikol Pashinyan said the march will be dedicated to the victory of Armenia’s citizen.
