The European Commission does not aim to harm the Bulgarian carriers, Ognian Zlatev, Head of the European Commission Representation in Bulgaria, said during a visit to Sliven, Focus Radio reported. Zlatev asserted that transport regulations were in no way aimed against the carriers and that the meeting with EU Commissioner for Transport Violeta Bulc in Sofia was aimed at protecting their interests and seeking a solution.
A compromise will also be sought regarding the agreement with Iran, Zlatev added. After ongoing consultations, the EU’s position will become clear at the summit in Sofia next week. “Clarifying the relations with Iran is important not only for maintaining the nuclear status quo, but also because they have an impact on the EU economy,” the official said.
